KICK KICK KICK!!

Nicole got Reese some new floaties a few weeks back and today was my first chance to see her in action with them! We all went to "Cabe's Ton-Ton's" to swim...I mean it really is too hot to do anything else! Nicole said Reese had really been hesitant about wearing them BUT now she is swimming all over like a FISH!

We had a great time. Tonya (Nicole's Sister-In-Law a.k.a Ton-Ton to Cabe) has two girls; Nicole had Cabe and I of course had Reese so there was a lot of action. Reese did really well for the most part. There were a few times when she didn't want to be left alone and would yell "COLEY!!"

Practicing Kicking!!
Cabe and Josie being silly!

After our long day of swimming Reese and I ran some errands. We just decided to drive through Sonic because we were both tired and hungry. I let Reese sit up front with me to order to even got her some ice cream! I ordered just plain vanilla ice cream but they brought out this HUGE cone with ice cream piled feet high!!!!!! Reese saw the lady come out with that and literally SQUILLED out!!!! A good 10 second squill followed by yelling "ICE CREAM!!!" I almost died! Our Sonic server and I could not stop laughing. Even the ladies beside us were giggling. I honestly don't think I have ever seen Reese get that excited before. Ahh the joys of small children :) What a great way to end the day...

If only there were 8 days to a week...

I might would have time to get somethings done! Probably not but here is to wishful thinking!

Last week we were preparing for the BIG event - Reese's Birthday Brunch - DUH!! And more importantly Robert was here! Reese and I were both so excited to see him. I think he was really surprised how well she is talking. She is repeating everything and speaking so clearly.

I am just in shock she is two!! I feel like it was just last month we were at the pool celebrating her 1st birthday. Time is flying but we are definitely having fun!

Reese is staying with Nicole this summer while everyone is out of school (expect for me! I mean who goes to work at the beginning of summer?!) I think Cabe and Reese have really enjoyed playing together everyday. He doesn't understand why baby Reese doesn't come over on the weekends! This last Saturday he got up and fixed her some juice and was patiently waiting on her when Nicole had to try and explain why she wasn't coming...it's that the sweetest thing ever?! Now, they can definitely play rough but there is no doubt about it that they love each other! -- Here they are at Mom's for Father's Day lunch :)

Reese is still wearing her lady-bug antennas.

We have been going 90-to-nothing lately so I can happily say we have nothing planned this weekend!

Age: 2

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REESE!!! We celebrated Reese's 2nd birthday this weekend. TWO! Where has the time gone?! We got all of our family and friends together Saturday for a little brunch. It was lady-bug themed of course and served all of Reese's favorites...fruit, blueberry muffins, sausage balls...and cupcakes!

She of course got lots of "loot" but I think the unanimous favorite was the dress-up box from the McGowan girls.

They opened it first - that's the reason for the kind-of wacky outfits in most of the pictures!

Reese and Cabe were very entertained by Mason!

Reese's poor little scratch:(
I think Reese really had a lot of fun playing and visiting with everyone!
...and Robert was left to open the last few gifts. He was really excited about this Barbie :)
On her actual birthday (today!) Nicole and Cabe took her to Chuck E. Cheese!! It was her first visit and I'm pretty sure she loved it. Think about it...pizza, music and games all at the same time/place!! WOO HOO!!
By the 4th day of celebrating and getting gifts I think she finally got the unwrapping thing figured out. This morning mom and I gave her a few things. When mom gave her the first box, Reese unwrapped it one little bit of paper at a time. When she finally got all the paper off she stopped, looked at the box and went "Ahh!" Like oh what a great gift Su-Su - She still had no clue there was something inside the box! Funny girl :)

I think this birthday was an overall success! It is always nice to have an occasion to get everyone together.
The two-year adventure has been more than we ever imagined but so much fun!

Mommy Guilt

Reese is going to VBS this week with Nicole and Cabe and I have to admit I have some serious mommy guilt over not being there. I usually do everything Reese does...It's my first experience as a "working-mom" to miss something :(
I know she is having a blast playing with the other kids! Yesterday when I went to pick her up she sctually said "fun at chirch!" (pronounce similiar to "chirp")
Their theme is "Saddle Ridge Ranch" so today she wore her cowgirl boots -- she is probably thinking "Could life get any better?!"

C.P.R.

Well... we had a pretty serious accident this morning :( Luckily everyone is OK and nothing had to be amputated...
Before church, Reese and I went out to water the plants. Reese was dragging around the water hose when she knocked over the stroller and scraped her leg. She was so upset when she saw it start to bleed. Luckily Su-Su and Granddaddy were there to help! Dad called a CODE C.P.R. - Critical Popsicle Request - and mom brought the Dora band aides. After a lot of TLC Reese was able to dry her tears but she insisted her leg stay propped up until we went to church.

Honestly, this morning I thought she was being a little dramatic, I mean look at her eating that popcycle! But by tonight her scrape has scabbed over and is looking pretty serious... I think only time will tell if she can make a full recovery and gain full function of her leg :)

Poor Baby!!

Bed Time Rituals

I just tucked Reese into bed with her blanket, her pig and.... her Ukulele.

Yes. I am not kidding...she chose to lay down with the ukulele instead of rocking with Su-Su!

A Whirlwind!!

I just thought life with a toddler was busy before...now I know it is! I am officially working and loving it! I started 2 weeks ago and I've already had my first vacation. Pretty nice huh?! Robert and I had already planned a beach trip with some of our Memphis friends and my boss was gracious enough to let me take off so I worked a week then took off a week :) Woo Hoo!
We went to Gulf Shores with 5 other couples and had such a great time! We celebrated Robert and John's 27th birthday - man they are getting old :) The oil didn't come until out next to last day so we slept in, lounged on the beach, ate lots of good food and even had a few dance parties! We don't get to see the Memphis group very often so it was nice to get to visit with everyone.
Robert didn't shave for nine days straight and bought a pair of American flag swim trunks from Wal-Mart...
A few of the girls.

The boys checking out the tar balls!

Reese stayed with my parents. I think she probably got some attention...they took her to the dirt-bike track and worked on potty in the big girl potty. My mom has the most hilarious video of Reese trying to tee-tee in a baby doll potty. We haven't been able to upload it yet but when we do I'll post it! It's priceless!!
