Merry Christmas!

It's practically here!

We are kicking off Christmas festivities tommorow so Reese and I spent the day checking the lasts things off our list.
One was a little craft for Grandma Brower:
Yes, She is rolling her eyes at me.... :)

We hope everyone has a happy and safe Christmas!

Christmas Play Date

We have been crafting away this Christmas! Today, we had a Christmas themed play-date.

We had reindeer cookies for snack...

juice boxes {these two look up to something}...
and made our own Christmas ornaments!

Nicole had a very simple recipe for equal parts applesauce and cinnamon - one suggestion: mix and let it sit to harden some before cutting out your patterns.

Reese was very sure to press firmly on hers!

They had so much fun and now our house smells like cinnamon :)

Gingerbread House

We made our first gingerbread house! Although it was fun to make, I can't say much for the quality!

It fell over before we were even finished! Oh well, we had fun!

"Family Maintenance" Day

I always said Robert took for granted everything I did as a stay-at-home mom but this Christmas I have realized I took for granted everything I could get done during the week!

This Christmas, our weekends have been full of house projects, decorating, ornament swaps and of course shopping! So today, I took a personal day. No painting, cleaning or babysitters! Reese and I slept in, we did some things around town and then, her favorite, went to CHUCKIE CHEESE! Reese kept saying "Is it a PARTY?!"

**Her hair is straight because "Mar-Mar" cut it! NOT because I straightened it :)

We finished the afternoon with a quick trip to BassPro and guess who we ran into...SANTA!

I wasn't going to push the whole Santa thing this year after our traumatic experience last year. But, I thought it wouldn't hurt to try. Turns out, she did great! We went to BassPro {which I would highly suggest.} There were no lines so she could take her time.

Her list to Santa:

1. A putter...computer
2. A baby doll
3. A puppy....yea I don't really know what we are going to do about that one!

We were absolutely exhausted, but it was the best day I have had in a very long time. She is so absolutely sweet and growing wayyy too fast. I say this every year but, I think this Christmas will be the best yet! She is more aware of everything and can actual help us pick out gifts. We are all three counting down the days...10 to go!!!

On A Cold Sunday....

We like to cuddle up and read...

Today's book of choice is "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" because Reese has asked 3 times to read it! My favorite part:

"Maybe Christmas," he {The Grinch} thought, "doesn't come from a store."
"Maybe Christmas...perhaps...means a little bit more!"

Other than reading we are just hanging around!

"Tales of a Bad Blogger"

That should be the new title to my blog! I've never pretended to be a good blogger but the last few months have really been pitiful. In my defense, I have moved in with my parents, then moved out, taken on a whole house project, gone to work, lost my camera, bought a new one, broken it...not to mention I have a two year old that I am still trying to get to sleep in her own bed!

But what better time to start back blogging than the holidays. After all, everyone has soo much extra time around Christmas anyway, right?! So I am starting early on a few of my 2011 resolutions.
#1 Blog!

I'll try to hit the highlights of the last few months, but let's face it...I'll be doing good to post what's happening now! Hope you enjoy!

Big Cousin

Being "home" has some serious advantages...like having Payton over to play!

/Saturday, she came over to visit - they made mudpies outside, she cleaned Reese's room while Reese took a nap then they made cookies!

Payton is so patient with Reese and Reese just loves her Payton. I feel like Payton should still be Reese's size!

A few snapshots from the last few days..
Thrilled to take her ear-infection medicine...
And her first taste of banana pudding!

Can you tell she liked it??

To Reese, playing dress-up means putting on every accessory or item of clothing she can get her hands on

Such a doll!!
Just another little story - one day we were leaving the babysitter. As we were walking out to the car the babysitter said "Bye Reese's pieces" to which Reese replied {as she jerked around with pink glitter purse on her shoulder} "I NOT REESE PIECE I REESE KENZIE!"

Life Update: Summer 2010

Long time no blog...I'll be the first to admit I'm not a consistant blogger but 2 months...where does the time go?! I keep waiting for a "break" to catch up on missed blogs but then I thought - I'm a mother of a two year old, wife of a work-aholic-sports-fanatic and a serious control freak so odds are I won't be getting any kind of "break" for the next 20+ years. I am {starting} to realize that.
With that said, we have had a great summer! I'm working full time and love it! Love my job; love my co-workers; love it all! My sister kept Reese all summer and they had an absolute blast! She and Cabe took Reese on her fist trip to Chuckie Cheese, went to the water park, the children's measum and the zoo. If you have ever seen Cabe and Reese together they are a handful! I'm not sure quite how Nicole did it. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful sister. But as sweet as she is, she wouldn't quit her job to keep Reese full time - which I am still upset about ;) but luckily, when she started back to school this fall, we found a sweet lady to watch Reese. She is as kind hearted and patient as they come. As a mom there is nothing harder than leaving your baby with an uneasy feeling. I can honestly say that we all love Mrs. Candy {Reese's sitter} and think this school year will be great!
Reese, oh Reese...has really turned into a little lady this summer. She amazes me everyday! Here's the run down:
- Potty Trained!!! (and has been for a while)
- Eats a frozen pancake every morning for breakfast
- Loves music more and more!
-Thinks every toy is musical and if not makes her own music noises {as in the tennis raquet that she thinks is a guitar.}
- Requests songs and sings along at bed time. Some of her favorties - Twinkle, Twinkle and Mr. Froggie
- Talks, talks, talks! The crazy thing about this is we know what she is saying! In the spring it was still crazy jibber-jabber. Then, early in the summer, we could communicate but for the most part she just repeated everything we said. And now, she tells her own stories! And boy are they entertaining!
- Um, loves to throw stuff out the window. Thinks a "litter-bug" is a good thing?
- Is such a daddy's girl :)
She is so enjoyable we just love her to peices! This fall has already started in high-gear. Robert is now working in Memphis - as of last Monday- so we are all together, working and living in the same time zone. We have already been to Knoxville once and have one, possibly two more trips planned this season. One of my best friends from college is getting married!! And we have to move. I see many oppurtunities for blogging in my very near future and promise I'll try my best to keep up!
After two crazy years, three cities and four moves I finally feel like I am right where I need to be. I'm really looking forward to the fall and all that is in store.
p.s. I'll be posting pictures and videos very soon!!

h2o

Nothing says summer like being out on the water!
My dad bought an old boat earlier this summer, like an '85 Avanti...OLD! But he and my brother have worked on it and basically re-done everything!! I am really upset with myself that I didn't get before-after pictures because the transformation was amazing! This weekend was the first time he gave it a spin on the water and it runs great! Cabe and Reese just like riding and the wind in their hair.
We spent most of the day doing cannonballs off the boat and swimming around. I must say, Cabe and Reese are pretty much fearless on the water.

All Reese wanted to do was drive the boat! Every chance she got she jumped in the Captain's chair!

Mr. & Mrs.

The long awaited wedding weekend of Frankie and Rachel has finally come (and gone). Frankie was a fraternity brother of Robert's in college and my "chaperon" after Robert graduated. He has literally been there since the beginning of our family so, needless to say Robert and I were so excited to celebrate with he and his new bride this weekend!
---
The festivities were in Lebanon, right outside of Nashville, and kicked off Friday night with Rehearsal Dinner. If you remember, Frankie was the guy who wore a "grill" in some of our wedding pictures - quite the prankster. He gave all of the groomsmen and ushers tux t-shirts.
(Props to Rachel for being such a patient bride:)
After Frankie fumbled his way through the vows everyone headed to The Mill for the reception. Everything was absolutely amazing - beautiful bride, great band and delish chocolate cake :)

Robert & I at the wedding - after it poored rain!!!

A few of the guys - I didn't take many pictures...I am boycotting my camera until I get a new one!

We had so much fun seeing everyone! I love weddings and I am so blessed I love all of my hubbies friends! They are so much fun...probably too much fun - I am still recovering!

Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Grauzer!

Self - Photos

Reese, like her mommy, really likes to take pictures. She walks around flashing the camera taking people's pictures; It's pretty smart actually, only if she can figure out to turn the camera around. So far we have alot of self-photos:)
What a clown!!

Let Freedom Ring!!

July 4th is one of my favorite holidays in Atlanta. There are probably about 5 or 6 big firework shows, lots of day festivals...so much to do! One of our favorites is the Lenox Mall firework show. People put out lawn chairs or blankets on any open spot for miles in every direction. We like to pack a cooler and snacks and just take it all in! This year we strolled to a ColdStone Creamery close to the show...apparently everyone else had the same genius idea. Poor Robert stood in the ice cream line during the entire firework display and about 20 minutes afterwards. BUT we got free ice cream!! Reese loves ice cream and Robert loves Free so we were a happy family :)

Robert was thrilled to stand in line!

It was an all-around American weekend! We went to a Braves game, stayed at the pool all day and cooked out at night. Those are some of my most favorite things...no wonder I love the 4th!
